WELCOME!

We welcome you to lovely Long Grove, Illinois. This historic village dates back to the early 1800s. The village was founded by German farmers who were reminded of their Saar Valley homeland.

Our open-air "lifestyle" center is as it was long ago but the shopping district still meets the needs of families on the go. Or perhaps you would like to visit for a relaxing day shopping and strolling through this charming historic village. It’s truly like a trip back in time to the 1800s. The buildings have been restored and preserved. The brick sidewalks and covered bridge delight your eye. A homemade bakery, chocolate candy, and fresh brewed coffee beans delight your smell. Let the ice cream at the Apple Haus and the popcorn shoppe tempt your taste and a traditional village tavern fulfill your thirst.

You'll be delighted by the sights, smells and sounds in this charming village and we're open all year. Free parking and no admission fees make it perfect for a day trip.

You'll also find special events planned throughout the year for your enjoyment.

Just look in our backyard to find a covered bridge, original 1-room schoolhouse, prairie trails, cobblestone walkways, even a mill pond leading to a unique collection of over 80 mom-and-pop specialty shops and restaurants. Many are housed in landmark Victorian buildings that mark Long Grove's importance in the history of Lake County, Illinois.

Historic Long Grove, IllinoisLong Grove's fine shops boast some of the most extensive and select offerings in the Chicago area. Starting at the crossroads–within a ten minute walk–there are galleries showcasing American crafts, internationally recognized artists, portrait artists, as well as wind chimes, antiques, a pottery studio, a shop that teaches mosaic design and other arts, an art school, a wonderful knit shop, an olive oil tasting emporium, a wine shop, and so much more.

If fine jewelry puts a sparkle in your eyes, you can create custom designs with gems from around the world, fine estate and vintage pieces, Baltic amber, and Native American turquoise and silver. Just steps from one another in the village there is a full service florist and silk floral design consultants.
