CHOCOLATE FEST STORE EVENTS – MAY 1-2-3, 2009

Apple Haus
Be sure and try these items only available during Chocolate  Fest:  Aunt Heidi's Chocolate Apple Pies. Made with a cocoa crust, these pies combine rich dark chocolate and fresh apples. Available in 2 sizes. Also, try the Brownie Cookies. They are made with 2 soft dark chocolate cookies with filled with a creamy fudge filling. They are a staff favorite.


Also available are chocolate turnovers, chocolate cherry muffins, and our mocha myrtle beverage. Also serving fried pizza dough.

 

Farmside Grocery and Winery

Indulge in our newest best selling wine- ChocoVine. This creamy chocolate & red wine mixture has become a hit with our regulars. Selling for $15.99 a bottle, a little bit goes a long way. Stop in for a sample. Also, try our chocolate dipping pretzels with our homemade chocolate chip cream cheese.

 

Long Grove Confectionery
Our famous chocolate-covered strawberries are going to get some competition- a 3 ft tall Chocolate Fondue Fountain. Dip skewers of rice crispy, marshmallows, donut holes and of course, fresh strawberries with warm, rich Long Grove milk chocolate. The Fountain will be set up in our Fountain Square tent, weather permitting, or inside our retail store if weather requires protection. Don't leave home without trying either one of these delectable delights.

 

The Keeping Room
Saturday, May 2nd, Chamilia Trunk Show, drawing and specials All three days, Coco Truffle Tea Forte Tastings  Sunday, May 3rd, 1 to 3 pm, Reid Olsen, 70's Acoustic Pop, performing in the shop.

 

Lucy & Ethel's will be hosting its Lucy & Ethel Trivia contest during the fest. Correct winners of the trivia questions will receive an 8x10 glossy photo of this hilarious duo.

 

 Potpourri will have very special chocolate scented petti four and chocolate dessert candles for burning at your desert table or just for fun. Guaranteed low in calories.

Glunz Family Winery will be highlighting raspberry wine for Chocolate Fest. Customers can enjoy a sample of raspberry wine served in a cup made of chocolate.

 

Long Grove Café will be serving their famous chocolate martinis

 

Enzo & Lucia’s will be featuring chocolate cannolis with chocolate shells and chocolate martinis.

 

Victoria’s Mexican Restaurant will be serving margarita and drink specials and chocolate mole dishes, as well as special homemade Mexican hot chocolate.

 

Victoria’s WILL ALSO BE CELEBRATING CINCO DE MAYO on Tuesday, May 5th with specials!

 

The Long Grove Popcorn Shoppe
 Chocolate Fest menu will feature hand-dipped chocolate popcorn and chewy chocolate praline fudge.

 

Timmy’s Sandwiches & Ice Cream will be hosting two contests on both Saturday and Sunday at 3 pm.

 

1) Ice Cream Eating Contest (Chocolate Ice Cream) 3 pm Saturday and Sunday – Towner Green in front of Timmy’s.  There will be two age categories Ages 7-15 and Ages 16 –Up. Applicants will need to apply (sign-up) at Timmy's anytime before the event - $5.

 

 Each first place winner will receive a personal MP3 player.

 

2) I Scream You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream

        3:30 pm Saturday and Sunday

        Approximately 10 participants. Bystanders and Timmy's Staff will vote on who can scream the loudest for ice cream. The winner will win a gift card for free ice cream at Timmy's. No Fee.

 
Timmy’s will also have many different varieties of chocolate ice cream, double chocolate brownies, and are also now doing old fashioned chocolate sodas.  In addition, to these contests, Timmy’s will have live music in front of the store and Mr.Moose Tracks – the moose – will also be on hand.

The Village Tavern -   Will be featuring the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, chocolate martinis, micro-brewed chocolate beers, chocolate dipped wine bottles, and other chocolate treats in their Party Room, and will be offering a wide range of decadent chocolate desserts for purchase.


 

The Country House of Long Grove will have Free Chocolate with every purchase, a chocolate fountain, live music with the band Crete on Saturday, and on Sunday the Chicago tap ensemble Soul to Soul will perform.

 

Beans & Leaves Coffee & Tea Café

Plenty of delicious chocolate-flavored drinks and pastries. Enjoy Chocolate Cherry Kiss coffee, S’mores lattes and mint frappes. Melt down over French style macaroons, Espresso Chocolate Tarts, and Chocolate-cream tea.

 

Mangel Gifts
 
Enjoy live performances by Bill Robinson, the “King of the Dulcimer” and friends from 10 am to 5 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

 

The Olive Tap will be featuring and sampling a new Chocolate Balsamic and a Carob Chocolate Vincotto. All of their other oils and vinegars will also be available for sample tasting.

“Blast from the Past” jewelry trunk show Saturday and Sunday, (May 2 & 3) from 11-5 each day. Chocoholic shopalicious blowout clothing sale (from 20 – 50% off most clothing) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 – 6. Free chocolate goodie bag with every $75 purchase.

 

Incas’s will offer 15% off on items throughout the entire store.  It’s spring - winter coats will be on sale for 70% off the original price. Inca’s has moved to a new location in Long Grove – come visit their new combined store right across the street from their old spot. The new location is in Building 7, next door to The Back Porch.

 

Long Grove Soap & Candle will celebrate Chocolate Fest with a variety chocolate soaps and candles –all the smell and good flavor without the calories.
