Grove Ice Meltin' Blues Fest
March 28, 2009
Chase away the winter blues with a day of soul warming
music. This year Long Grove will introduce another
special family event – an all-day blues fest that
promises to kick the bite out of winter. Enjoy a
variety of live performances in venues all over town
– including The Village Tavern, the Long Grove Café
and Beans and Leaves Coffee & Tea Café.

Flaming Flapjacks Pancake Breakfast
April 18, 2009
Enjoy
all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausages, coffee and fruit
– hosted by the Long Grove Firefighters Association
and the South Lake County Regional Community Emergency
Response Team (serving Long Grove, Kildeer, Hawthorn
Woods and Lake Zurich. Tickets are $6 per person;
children under 3 are free. No advance tickets are
necessary. The pancake breakfast will be held at the
Long Grove Fire Protection District, 1165 Old McHenry
Road in Long Grove, one block from the historic village. For

Chocolate
Fest May 1-2-3, 2009
Enjoy the sweet life! This annual festival kicks
off the outdoor special event season in Long Grove
each spring with a celebration of everything chocolate.
The historic district, home to more than 70 distinctive
shops and restaurants, including the world renowned
Long Grove Confectionery, becomes a chocolate lover’s
paradise! Enjoy chocolate in all its many splendors;
sway to the live entertainment throughout the village
all three days, and fall to the temptations of the
many food, specialty vendors and tasty restaurants.

Long Grove Goes Pink (Cancer Benefit)

Long Grove will host the third annual Long Grove
Goes Pink day on Saturday, May 30th to benefit the
Avon walk for breast cancer. Activities begin with
a welcoming ceremony at 9:30 am on Towner Green.

Strawberry Festival June 26-27-28,
2009
The
pleasures of summer are celebrated with “berry-wonderful”
strawberry flavored and inspired treats from melt-in-your-mouth
chocolate covered strawberries to strawberry martinis
and desserts. This is the granddaddy of Long Grove’s
signature festivals, drawing close to 50,000 visitors
to the historic business district for the 3-day event.
It is considered one of the premier outdoor festivals
in the Chicagoland area. Live music all day at many
different venues, great food, distinctive shopping
and children’s activities are other reasons to come
for the day – or the weekend. 10 am to 6 PM

Greek Days – August 1-2, 2009
A Mediterranean flavor and the aroma of saganaki

Long Grove Art Fest - August 15-16, 2009
Artists
have been flocking to Long Grove for more than 20
years for the annual juried Fine Arts & Craft
Festival. Select from among an amazing array of original
artwork, including watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings,
sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, glass, photography and
mixed media. Enjoy live music and plenty of great
food.

Wine & Dine – August 15-16, 2009
Enjoy an afternoon of fine wines, lively entertainment
and a beautiful outdoor venue at Long Grove’s highly
acclaimed Wine & Dine celebration. Tantalize your
taste buds with more than 100 red, white, fruit and
seasonal wines. Wines include an excellent selection
of imported, domestic, Midwest and local wines in

Irish Days – September 5-6-7, 2009
The celebration of all things Irish kicks off three
fun-filled days of music, dance, food and fun in historic
downtown Long Grove. Live performances throughout
the event feature well known Irish musicians, as well
as Irish step dancing from the area’s finest dancing

Heritage 5 K Run /3 K Walk – September 12
Sponsored by The Rotary Club
This annual 5 K run/3 K walk is a "feel good" event
that takes participants along one of Long Grove’s
prettiest country roads. Join us for a pancake breakfast
after your run/walk, sponsored by the Rotary Club.
Proceeds will be donated to an area charity.

Apple Festival – October 2-3-4, 2009
Any
way you slice it, the Long Grove Apple Festival is
a wonderful way to spend an autumn weekend in a beautiful
country setting. More than 70 distinctive shops and

and foods. Treats include cider donuts, caramel apples,
the Long Grove Apple Haus’ famous brown bag apple
