MAP & DIRECTIONS

Hope you look here first for directions. MapQuest and similar
services seem to have trouble getting folks to Long Grove!
(The Navigator systems can't seem to locate us either.)

  

From the North I-94 and exit at Route 22 (Old Half Day Road). Go west to Route 83 (about 6 miles) and turn left. Continue to the third traffic light, which will be Robert Parker Coffin Road. Turn right. The parking lot sign will be on your left. Note: DUE TO ONGOING ROAD CONSTRUCTION IN THIS AREA WE SUGGEST YOU CALL THE VISITOR'S CENTER AT (847) 634-0888 FOR ALTERNATES OR USE THESE DIRECTIONS: EXIT AT RT. 22, GO WEST TO BUFFALO GROVE RD., TURN LEFT OR SOUTH TO APTAKISIC RD., TURN RIGHT OR WEST AT THE END, WHICH IS RT. 83. TURN LEFT OR SOUTH AND THEN RIGHT IMMEDIATELY AT THE LIGHT, WHICH IS ROBERT PARKER COFFIN RD. THE PARKING LOT SIGN WILL BE ON YOUR LEFT.	From the East Take Lake-Cook Road to Route 83. Turn right on 83 and go to Route 53. Turn left onto 53 and almost immediately turn right (at traffic light) to Old McHenry Road. Parking lot will be on your right.
From the South I-294 to I-90 West to 53 North. Continue on 53 to the end and take the west exit. That will put you on Lake-Cook Road. Go to the traffic light (Route 53/Hicks Road) and turn right. Go to the second light and turn left onto Old McHenry Road and into the village. The Municipal Archer parking lot will be on your right.	From the Chicago Loop I-290 West to I-294 North to I-90 West or take I-90/94 and stay on I-90 to 53 North. Go to the end of 53 and take the west exit, which will put you on Lake-Cook Road. Go to the traffic light (Rte 53/Hicks Road) and turn right. Go to the second light and turn left onto Old McHenry Road and into the village. The Municipal Archer parking lot will be on your right.
From the West I-90 to 53 North. Continue to the end of 53 and take the west exit. That will put you on Lake-Cook Road. Go to traffic light (Rte. 53/Hicks Road) and turn right. Go to the second light and turn left onto Old McHenry Road and into the village. The Municipal Archer parking lot will be on your right.	From Naperville Take 355 to I-290 North, which turns into 53 North. Take 53 to the end and take the west exit, onto Lake-Cook Road. Go to the traffic light (Rte 53/Hicks Road) and turn right. Go to the second light and turn left onto Old McHenry Road and into the village. The Municipal Archer parking lot will be on your right.

Public Transportation from Downtown Chicago to Long Grove

The Arlington Park Metra/Union Pacific-Northwestern line comes out of the Ogilvie Station and will take you to the Arlington Park Racetrack or to downtown Barrington. If you take the train to the Arlington Park Racetrack, then you can take the Pace 690 bus north on Arlington Heights Road to the intersection of Lake-Cook and Arlington Heights Roads or to the intersection of Route 83 and Deerfield Parkway/Checker Drive. From those two points you'll have to take a cab the rest of the way to Long Grove (10-minute ride). Or you can take a cab from the Arlington Park train station to Long Grove (20-minute ride).

The Milwaukee-Wisconsin line, which travels from downtown Chicago to Antioch, comes out of Union Station and will take you to the train station in Buffalo Grove on Deerfield Parkway. You will also have to take a cab from this train station to Long Grove (10-minute ride). Please be aware that this line does not run very often. Check the schedule before relying on this option to get you to Long Grove and back home again.
